Commercial AC Replacement
Service Overview
When your Lubbock, TX business needs a commercial air conditioning replacement it’s a big investment but it’s an absolutely necessary one. Keeping your employees or customers comfortable during our long and unbearably hot summers is a top priority and Armstrong Plumbing, Air & Electric can help you do just that.
Choosing a system to fit your needs
Commercial cooling systems come in all shapes and sizes just like the medical office buildings, retail stores, and countless other businesses they keep cool. The first critical step for a commercial air conditioning replacement is determining the unique needs of your business and then making the best choice when it comes to cooling options which can include:
- Traditional forced air central cooling systems
- Forced air systems with zoning for custom temperature control
- Ductless mini-split heat pumps that eliminate the need for energy wasting ductwork
Once a decision is made then Armstrong will determine how much cooling capacity is needed. This depends on many factors including:
- Square footage
- Construction type
- Level and quality of insulation
- Number & size of windows
Sizing is a critical step
Just like the Three-Bears fairy tale, air conditioning can’t be too big or too small, it needs to be just right. If the system doesn’t have enough cooling capacity it may not be able to keep your workers and/or employees comfortable. However, never let a salesperson tell you a larger capacity system is always better. If an air conditioner is too large it may cycle on and off frequently leading to premature breakdowns.
Energy efficiency
No one likes big electrical bills during the cooling season. Efficiency will cost more money upfront but will cut those monthly bills down to size. Efficiency is measured by the SEER rating. A rating of 13-14 is considered standard. A SEER rating of 15-18 is considered high efficiency. Ultra-efficient models can have a rating as high as 24.
The installation can make or break cooling performance
Here’s some information you may not hear from other HVAC contractors: Many different brands of air conditioners come out of the box using the very same components. That’s why Armstrong has a saying, “An air conditioner is just a box.” It’s what happens after they come out of the box that determines how well it works. It’s our passionate belief that installation day is the most important day in the life of a new system. Our technicians have the necessary tools, knowledge, and experience to handle any commercial installation.
