The Legacy of Armstrong

IN LUBBOCK, TX

Armstrong History Timeline

E.H. (Embree) Armstrong founded our company, which began in 1934 as Armstrong Supply, in the midst of the Great Depression. He was a one-man-operation selling appliances and servicing Philco radios during a very difficult era of our nation’s history. When many were fleeing the southern plains because of economic and environmental devastation, Mr. Armstrong persevered. Integrity, innovation, customer satisfaction, commitment and relationship-building were his core values. Armstrong Plumbing, Air & Electric continue that legacy today with every customer we serve. Our goal is and always will be your 100% satisfaction, guaranteed. When Mr. Armstrong’s son-in-law, George Carpenter, joined the business in 1954, Armstrong Supply established itself as a family owned and oriented business. Our family includes not only our customers but also every Armstrong employee. The continued success of our business is due to the hard work and dedication of each person employed by our company. We continue to grow and improve because we’re bound together by teamwork and a desire to serve the Lubbock, Texas area.

ARMSTRONG INTRODUCES PLUMBING

In 1972, Armstrong Supply added a plumbing division, doing business as C & L Mechanical. Following the death of Mr. Armstrong in 1980, Armstrong Supply and C & L Mechanical merged into Armstrong Mechanical, continuing to build on the reputation established by Mr. Armstrong. George Carpenter’s son, Chris, joined the family business in 1981, adding a 3rd generation to the long-running legacy established nearly 100 years ago. Luke Green, George Carpenter’s grandson, came on board in 1996 further expanding the family commitment to serve the Lubbock area residents with the top-notch products and services they know and expect.

REBRANDING TO ARMSTRONG PLUMBING, AIR & ELECTRIC

2016 ushered in a rebranding of Armstrong Mechanical, when an electrical division was added. With the rebranding came a new name, Armstrong Plumbing, Air & Electric, and our own “Mr. Armstrong” character, created in the likeness of important people throughout the history of our company. As you can see in the image below, our character symbolizes the style and clothing of E.H. Armstrong, George, Chris, and Ryan Carpenter, Luke Green, and a small flare of West Texas.

Armstrong Character

For our logo, we wanted something that depicted who we are and how we began, but in a way that is both fun and memorable. We are the same company with the same great people providing the same exceptional service. In 2019, we expanded our capabilities yet again, when 4th generation family member, Ryan Carpenter joined Armstrong full time enabling us to utilize his software and technology talents to offer Virtual Design and Prefabrication.
