Explore The Trade Skills Lab, Built by Ferguson
Family-owned plumbing, air and electric company aiding in creation of plumbing skills lab
LUBBOCK, TX – Explore The Trades and Ferguson has granted $25,000 worth of equipment and products to Lubbock ISD’s Byron Martin Advanced Technology Center in Lubbock, TX. This equipment and products, with the help of Armstrong Plumbing, Air & Electric, will be used to create a plumbing skills lab.
The Explore The Trades Skills Labs are created with the intent of showing students different career opportunities that they might not have much information about. “We are excited about educating young people and encouraging them to embrace the artistry and ingenuity that comes from engaging their minds with their hands to build, craft and construct the future,” said Melissa Hazelwood, Director of Ferguson Cares.
Chris Carpenter, President of Armstrong, could not be more excited about this opportunity. “Armstrong is a trusted company in Lubbock, and we pride ourselves in staffing professional technicians. This grant gives Lubbock ISD the ability to teach potential future employees of all area plumbing companies in a realistic setting and ensure that they understand every technical detail of their job before being sent out into our community.”
