If you have an air conditioner or heat pump that is 10 years or older, you may have a system affected by this ban from the EPA.

R-22 refrigerant is banned from production and importing as of January 1, 2020. This supply will be drastically reduced, which will dramatically increase repair costs. It is a good possibility your system uses R-22 if it is at least 10 years old.  NOW is the time to plan for replacement!

The only available supply is from what already exists or has been recycled. The dwindling supply means prices (already very high) will skyrocket with the demand if you need to have R-22 refrigerant added to your cooling system. Armstrong Plumbing, Air & Electric is dedicated to ensuring all our customers are aware of these changes and to weigh all options of repair vs. replacing equipment. Call our office to schedule your no-obligation estimate or ask your technician for more information during your service call.
